R
Series
The R pump has been
redesigned to meet the new revised 3-A standards and is ideal
for the type of application where the metal rotored pump
will
not work effectively. When you need to strip clean your pump
because the product will not wash out by using a normal
CIP
process such as meat processing or bakery doughs, the R pump
overcomes this problem by its simple robust design. The
R
pump design utilizes a floating rotor without rotor nuts.
Rotors are interchangeable and can only be fitted in one
position
due to a specially modified square shaft.
This simple and robust design allows for all sanitary parts
to be changed in minutes without removing the pump from the
line. The pumps are now fitted with an 'O' ring front cover
gasket, making the routine maintenance even easier.
APV uses multi-lobe
rubber rotors( twin lobe on the RO) as standard. These deliver
very high efficiency for the handling of a wide range of difficult
and abrasive products.
As
a strip clean unit the simple rubber lip seal is front loaded
for easy replacement, but a mechanical seal can be used
if required.
To facilitate the use of a mechanical seal, an extended shaft
is used. This allows for the use of a double mechanical
seal
and a pressurized barrier fluid system. The seal can be easily
replaced due to its cartridge type arrangement. All popular
seal face materials are readily available.
For special applications
a range of metal or plastic rotors in several different profiles
can be supplied, which are ideal for abrasive or corrosive
products.
R pumps
can be fitted with enlarged rectangular inlets for metal and
dough slurries. Additionally, if entrapped air is a problem,
special de-gassing front covers can be used, enabling entrapped
air to be removed prior to cooking or processing. If you have
a problem with fitting a pump beneath your tank or hopper
a front cover outlet can be supplied. For higher discharge
applications a cover with outrigger bearings is available.
Pumps
can be supplied with a variety of drive units, or complete
with hoppers or auger feed units.
